Senior PV Cell & Module Scientist

Optony Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art thin-film photovoltaic cells and modules, and our manufacturing facility is located in HangZhou, China. We are looking for highly motivated and goal oriented hands-on Engineers and Scientists to join our team. Relocation assistance may be available for exceptional candidates. What You'll Do:

• Semiconductor material and cell/module performance characterization.
• Identify the problem and point out approach in enhancing the material quality and device efficiency accordingly.
• Innovation in material preparation, device fabrication/design, and data collection; prepare proposals for government and private research grant.
• Assist application/product engineer in solar module development.
• Perform component selection and design of proper interfaces with existing module components.
• Overview the current photovoltaic technologies; strategic plan for company’s next generation of products.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
• Design, install, and configure complex data acquisition systems desired.

What You'll Need:

• M.S./Ph.D in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience in photovoltaic research and product development.
• In-depth and broad knowledge on various photovoltaic applications, including CPV, 3rd generation PV, and thermal electric, etc.
• Hands-on experience on device fabrication and solar module design.
• Demonstrated capability of problem solving; capable of taking an undefined problem and identifying solvable approaches.
• Proficient use of LabView, MatLab, Solidworks, eDrawing preferred
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment meeting deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a small-company start-up environment.
