Senior Application/Product Development Engineer

Optony Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art thin-film photovoltaic cells and modules, and our manufacturing facility is located in HangZhou, China. We are looking for highly motivated and goal oriented hands-on Engineers and Scientists to join our team. Relocation assistance may be available for exceptional candidates. What You'll Do:

• Develop prototype products and design building blocks to provide reference designs for photovoltaic applications.
• Build, validate and test prototype products incorporating photovoltaic devices for consumer, industrial and government applications.
• Work with internal engineers, component vendors, and customers on product design.
• Coordinate and provide documentation suitable for regulatory approvals (UL, CSA, IEC etc.) and customer operations.

What You'll Need:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 5-10 of relevant experience. Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in product development involving design of electronic circuit and software/firmware development to support DC-DC conversion, DC power regulation, DC-AC conversion, etc.
• 5+ years of experience in photovoltaic’s industry, concentrating photovoltaic preferred.
• Strong communication skills and experience interacting with customers.
• Experience with AC grid connected applications including DC-AC conversion, use and selection of inverters, connectors and busses meeting code for specific applications.
